Which "people" would that be?  I am certain that he is FINE with "people" treating him however they feel like---most who give him a second glance are in AWE, but....  The ones he isn't fine with, he writes songs like "Bullets" and puts a few more million into his bank account and thanks them for giving him fodder for muse.
